Accounting Manager

Based in JHB (On-site)

As the manager for b.rain, we seek an individual who will play a pivotal role in leading our team to deliver projects promptly and exceed client expectations. Your duties will involve providing guidance during client interactions, overseeing project implementation, managing workflow efficiently, and conducting performance evaluations. We are looking for someone with dynamic leadership capabilities, adept client management skills, and a keen eye for process optimization to ensure the ongoing success of the b.rain team

 

Tasks:

  • Oversee daily operations of the b.rain team, ensuring smooth functioning
  • Conduct quality reviews to maintain standards.
  • Manage client engagements and assignments effectively.
  • Provide timely feedback to both managers and clients as required.
  • Promptly escalate issues to the head of department for resolution
  • Develop and manage client relationships, resolving queries efficiently.
  • Assist in tender pricing and project costing for accounting and related services.
  • Conduct internal reporting including WIP reporting, projections, billing and timesheet reviews.
  • Perform and/or review monthly variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and/or review journals accurately.
  • Process and/or review monthly payroll activities.
  • Review and file monthly VAT/EMP returns.
  • Review financial statement compilations performed by junior staff for accuracy.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing b.rain team to ensure high-quality work and client satisfaction
  • Fostering and nurturing client relationships for long-term partnerships
  • Innovating and optimizing departmental processes, utilizing technology for efficiency
  • Identifying training needs, conducting skill development sessions, and fostering collaborations among team members
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to provide holistic solutions for clients’ financial and operational requirements.
  • Establishing and monitoring KPI’s, implementing corrective actions when necessary
  • Demonstrating problem-solving skills by providing dynamic solutions to team challenges

 

Job Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in a similar position.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
